Who We Are

Alteri’s Bakery was founded in 1971 by Augie and Ida Alteri, who built a reputation for quality, tradition, and authentic Italian bread. In 2020, their son Mark Alteri expanded the family legacy by opening Alteri’s Italian American Market, bringing together the best of our signature recipes and fresh, quality products.

Today, Mark proudly owns and operates Alteri’s Market alongside his two sons, Calo and Nello, fifth-generation Italian bakers. From Mark’s great-grandfather to his grandfather, father, himself, and now his sons, five generations of our family have shared their passion for authentic Italian baking. Those who came before us shine in all that we do.

We are honored to carry on this legacy and serve our incredible North Country community.
